Creation of a mesh over a DTM.

You can project a mesh over a DTM in 2 ways :

Creation of a mesh V2.

This lets you apply a rectangular mesh over a triangulation. You must enter the distance between each point of the mesh in the X and Y directions. You can also give a distortion factor in Z. Also, you can create a base to the mesh.

The mesh so created is not an Autocad MESH object, but a set of rectangular 3DFaces.

A mesh without a base

Click bottom-left, bottom-right and top-right corner of the DTM, the dialog below shows :

The elevation of the optional base is automatically computed (it is equal to the minimum Z value - 1). You can change the X, Y and Z values. Make sure you adapt the size of the mesh according to your drawing. A very thin mesh can create a lot of 3DFaces and take a long time to draw.

Creation of a mesh V1.

This lets you apply a rectangular mesh over a triangulation. In this version, you must give the mesh density in the X and Y directions (limited to 256) and a base altitude. The result is a true AutoCAD MESH entity.

This version has limited possibilities, preferably use version 2 of this function.
