Find High and Low points .


This tool allows you find High and Low points of a DTM. A Low point is a point whose elevation is lower than all its neighbors' elevation. A High point is a point whose elevation is higher than all its neighbors' elevation.

In the following example, the red point is a High point if all the green points have a lower elevation. It is a Low point if all the green points have a higher elevation.

 

 

Search High points

Check this option to search High points

  • Layer : Enter the name of the layer for the creation of the circle showing the High points position or click on to select from a list.

Search Low points

Check this option to search Low points

  • Layer : Enter the name of the layer for the creation of the circle showing the Low points position or click on to select from a list.

Options

  • Circle radius : Enter the radius of the circle showing the High and Low points position.
  • Search only points at minimal and maximal elevations : Search only points whose elevation is equal to the minimal or maximal elevation of the DTM.
  • Erase circles layers : Erase the layers content at command launch.

 

 

Adjust the Dialog Box parameters, then click "OK".
