Slicing a DTM by Slope.


This tool allows you to color a DTM with respect to the triangles slope. You can use up to 10 slices, whether consecutive or not and whether of the same width or not. (for example, you can create a slice going from 199.00 to 199.50, then another one going from 202.00 to 203.50).

At the command prompt, FlashMNT displays :

>> Select the 3D faces to color:

Select the 3D Faces, then validate, the following Dialog Box appears.

 

 

Maximal slopes of the DTM

  • Minimal slope : indicates the minimum slope of the DTM, rounded to the inferior integer value.
  • Maximal slope : indicates the maximum Z of the DTM, rounded to the superior integer value.

Object Creation

  • 2D Solids : Check this box to use Solids (of which Z = 0) to color the DTM.
  • 3D Faces : Check this box to use 3D Faces to color the DTM. Use this option if you wish to create a rendering from the coloring.
  • Layer : Enter the name of the layer for Object Creation or click on to choose from a list.
  • Insert the legend : Check this box to insert the legend of the used colors .
  • Number of decimals : Choose the number of decimals to display in the legend.

Colors by Slopes

  • X Color : For each color you want to use, check the corresponding box then enter a color code or click on the color in order to use the color selection toolbox.
  • Slope from : Enter the minimal slope of the slice for this color.
  • To : Enter the maximal slope of the slice for this color.

 

Adjust the Dialog Box parameters, then click "OK".
